Outline the story …
I took inspiration from the episode of The StoryTeller Sapsorrow (which is a variation of the German Story Allerleirauh) where a princess wears three dresses over three nights in order to win over her romantic partner. I chose the second dress as inspiration, or the gown that shined like the stars. I also drew inspiration from the 1950s and early 1960s formal gowns.
Outline the construction…
fully lined with cotton sateen, a taffeta gown overlayed with 4 layers of tulle (two shiny, and two matte black) bodice lined with horse hair and fusible interfacing, and fully boned. both taffeta and cotton hems interfaced with horse hair tape.
That video really shows the glittery nature of the fabric, and how beautiful it sits on you. Very stunning.
