Outline the story …
Since I was a child I have always loved fairy tales. My mom told me a story every night. my favorite was beauty and the beast (Gabrielle-Suzanna Barbot de Villenueve). And she still is. For this competition I wanted to be inspired by the fairy tale we all know. The main character is beautiful. A simple good and courageous girl. I tried to represent her purity and her way of being through the costume created. Trying to remember the era in which it is set. My fantasy has flown away. The dress presented is the country version. Before she meets the beast.
Outline the construction…
I used some cotton to give a poor version of the dress. The flowers are made with satin ribbon. The bustier has boning inside. My pattern is created directly on the mannequin with simple fabric. The flowers are handmade.
