One piece – different styles
Outline the story …
The intention was, to sew a classic but unusual jacket. The piece should be wearable in everyday life, for leisure but also on special occasions with tie. "One piece - different styles" is my own motto.
But how does this fit into the theme "natural world"? We have many items of clothing for just one occasion. The better way is the multiple use of clothing.
My jacket should be combined in different ways.
Outline the construction…
I chose a classic suit pattern to make the jacket. The material is a printed cotton fabric with a linen look. The lining is made of taffeta. (This is the only synthetic material except the sewing thread.)
As special details I added red piping and wooden buttons.
The challenge was to cut the fabric. The pieces should match of pattern, especially on the breast pocket and the pocket flaps.
To complement the jacket, I sewed a waistcoat from the same fabric as the piping.
The finished piece is eye-catching but it can be styled in a variety of ways.
Great pattern matching! Love the fabric.
This is delightful!
Love this bold statement! Men’s jackets are difficult to make and look good. Great job!
