Lady Eiluned
Outline the story …
This costume design was based on Changeling: The Dreaming character Lady Eiluned.
The inspiration image was drawn by me.
In general it is inspered by 15 century Burgundian fashion. The high waist, silhouette of the skirt and the headpiece (hennin). Some details of historical decoration like fur trim were transformed into fantasy embellishment. For example instead of the fur I used the hand embroidered shoulder piece and the felted flower trim on the middle skirt.
Outline the construction…
The hennin was made in wirework technique. The coif has machine embroidery that repeats the hennin's pattern.
The bodice has steel boning incide. I used the modern pattern to make the dress more comfortable for the model. The sleeves have the wing shape in accordance to other details.
The underskirt is made of voile. The first middle skirt is from fine silk and the second middle skirt is from mesh with felted flowers and feather trim. The upper skirt is from jacquard and it is lined with voile. The sleeves are made the same way. All the skirts have the horsehair braid in the hem.
The collar and the cuffs are embroidered with beads and rivoli by hand. There is artificial felt under the embroidery. The upper skirt and the sleeves are decoreted with rhinestones.
Lovely details like the beadwork and all the layers helps the skirt float. Great work.
